A spiritually focused group in which your soul sound can be expressed and explored; sound that arises from deep silence, in toning, singing healing songs and chants and vocal improvisation.
HeartSong in Lancaster in North West England is at least a monthly Meditation and Chanting group, linked with Moon cycles and the energy of Nature, focussed in Celtic festivals. We sing songs from various traditions, and explore sound healing and improvisation. I also run Occasional Day Workshops throughout the north-West UK, such as Healing with Your Heartsong in Ulverston on January 13th 2018 (see below)
Heartsong creates a space of healing and transformation for people, taking the participants beyond their sense of themselves and their abilities, and putting them in touch with voice and a sound that is bigger and more powerful – rising out of a deeper sense of silence. It is really a kind of ritual work, Heartsong is linked in with the power of the New and Full Moons, reminding us of our connection to the Earth, to Spirit and to each other, and focussing energies for Earth healing. We intend to channel healing for participants and for the planet, and we connect with a global Earth healing network of Full Moon Meditations.
Further details below.
The next HeartSong evening will be for the January Blue Moon on Wednesday 31st January 2018
January Blue Moon Heartsong
This Heartsong session will take place on the date of the second Full Moon in the month of January, so it is called the Blue Moon. A powerful energy, which we will tune in to and engage with in our evening.
We will start with a simple practice of clearing the chakras by sounding sacred vowels. We will sing beautiful chants and songs that come from Hinduism, Paganism and Earth Spirituality, Buddhism, Christianity and Sufism. We will also be exploring the freedom and power of group improvisation and sound healing, and sharing in the healing of silent meditation and reflection. We will be creating and sharing in sacred community.
Wednesday 31st January 2018, 7-9pm
Lancaster Quaker Meeting House, Lancaster, LA1 1TX
Room 1 is on the ground floor and is fully accessible. There is disabled parking at the Meeting House, which is right beside the train station. Nearby parking is available on Wheatfield Street, or on the railway bridge, or (paid) in Dallas Road Car Park, or the Train Station.
2018 Day Workshops:
“These workshops give me a chance to be free with my voice in a close, supportive setting, where people are not competing with each other, but rather contributing to a uniquely collective gathering, and in which participants are free to explore voice work, chant together & share food – what’s not to like?! Bryony is a kind and welcoming host & facilitator” (Mary).
Healing with Your Heartsong
Saturday January 13th 2018, 10am-4pm, – Swarthmoor Reading Rooms, Fox Street, Swarthmoor, Ulverston, LA12 0HT
This day workshop is a deep opportunity to use your voice for healing, growth, and pleasure. It will be a chance to explore techniques of cleansing and balancing your energy system and your chakras with your voice, and exploring and getting to know your authentic voice better. This day will provide a safe, held space in which to explore the sound and longing of your Soul, in all its colours. I will be drawing on Naked Voice techniques, which support free, unstructured singing of the authentic voice. We will sing, working with healing songs and chants, and going deeply into the freedom of improvisation and toning.
The January / New Year moon will be moving down towards darkness on January 13th, and this is a powerful energy to tune into to release anything in your energy system and life that no longer serves you. We will meditate and reflect on this, and tune into this Lunar energy, seeing where we are at this beginning of the Calendar year. The day will be an opportunity to retreat from everyday life and check in with your self on a deep level, using the power of the voice to open and shift energy.
This day workshop is an opportunity to get to know your authentic voice better, to explore your Heartsong and to use it to dream into your life at this powerful season of the start of the year. It is also an empowered time to create intentions for growth and change in your life.
I will be drawing on the Naked Voice (UK) and SpiritSong (USA) practices which I have trained in and used in my work for the last twelve years.
Book with £20 deposit by January 5th for lower cost (£30/£35/£40). After this date the cost is (£40/£45/£50) (unwaged / low waged / full waged) (If you want to discuss an alternative exchange for this workshop, please contact me on firstname.lastname@example.org)
Heartsong Sound and Chakra workshop
Saturday January 27th, 10am-4.30pm at
Heather Bank Farm, CW12 3NA Congleton, Cheshire
Come and participate in a deep, healing day of Heartsong chakra work. We will be exploring and clearing your energy centres through sound, song, meditation and visualization, and tuning into the energy of the forthcoming January Full moon. This will be a space of healing and transformation for people, taking the participants beyond their sense of themselves and their abilities, and putting them in touch with voice and a sound that is bigger and more powerful – rising out of a deeper sense of silence.
We will explore sounds, words and songs that have been chosen to amplify the issues and energies of each chakra, and meditate on ways in which we can strengthen that energy in our lives. As well as the seven bodily chakras, we will be chanting for and working with the eighth bodily chakra, named by Johnathon Goldam as the Angel Chakra, which strengthens your experience of personal guidance.
This is a powerful opportunity to work deeply with your energy body and voice in a safe, held group space. The facilitator, Bryony Rogers, has many years experience working with voice and healing, and has led successful deep chakra workshops before. Here is some feedback from one of her participants:
“ Bryony held the space in the energy of generosity and warmth. I felt safe to release my voice from old fear and shame and have fun, even laugh. I was able to experience and share the beauty of my voice raised alongside others in simple and joyful harmony. The group went to a safe heart space together and I can’t wait for the next one – truly divine”. Frith, Lancaster.
Bryony will be drawing on her training and extensive experience in healing and with the energy body (NFSH level 4 and Reiki level 2 training and practice of over twenty years) and training in Naked Voice (UK) and SpiritSong (USA) techniques, working with the voice and leading Heartsong since 2000.

I really loved singing all together as a group and the sounds we created were magical! Bryony showed us how to vocalise our chakras, and really let go and improvise which was great fun! I sing from the bottom of my heart
My life opens.
I sing from my life
My heart opens.
My song is my life, deep within my soul it rises
From the core of my being.
